A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Osun State, Alhaji Fatai Oyedele Diekola, has for the umpteenth time, taken a swipe at the state governor,Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for allegedly engaging in anti-party activity during the Ondo State Governorship election which saw Mr.Rotimi Akeredolu(SAN), emerging victorious after trouncing Eyitayo Jegede of the PDP and Olusola Oke of AD.

Specifically, Diekola who currently locks horns with Aregbesola over alleged marginalization of those tagged home based of the party, pointedly accused the governor of surreptitiously supporting the Alliance for Democracy during the November 2016 Ondo State election.

The chieftain who was recently remanded at the Ilesa Prison along side six others at the behest of Chief Magistrate Ayo Ayeni for allegedly breaching the public peace, made these known while speaking on Tuesday evening at the Osogbo Civil Service Club during his 61st birthday bash.

“During the Osun West Senatorial election, I supported the PDP openly. But during the Ondo State Governorship election, Ogbeni Aregbesola worked for the AD behind the scene, What Aregbesola did was anti-party” he clarified. The former Chairman of Osogbo Local Government who maintained his abhorrence for injustice, promised to fight on “I am still in the APC and am an elder of the party. Nobody can check me out”

He canvassed  that after Aregbesola, no governor in the state should be allowed to spend more than a term, noting that the second term syndrome normally breed problems.
“Seriously, as from the next dispensation, no governor in Osun should be allowed to spend more than a term in office” the party stalwart said.

Besides, Diekola appealed to the people of the state to ensure that henceforth, they elect only politicians who are residents in the state and “not those living outside who are not conversant with the needs and pains of the state and its people”
” This is because, if we choose from among us,such a governor will be surrounded by the people from within and not foreigners”.

Reacting to the charge that he should begin to slow down his political activities on account of age and health, the APC stalwart promised not to quit until he clocked 70 years of age.
Earlier at the occasion while commending his doggedness, the former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon Adejare Bello and the erstwhile Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state, Hon Sunday Akere had admonished him to slow down his political activities.

They noted that Diekola’s contributions to the state would remain indelible praying he would be blessed with long life
Meanwhile, the brief ceremony filled with tributes,was graced by people from different political divides in the state
