A man saved by FAITH only in Christ Finished works can't continue in sin, because the sacrifice of Christ entails him(Christ) destroying the power of sin, receiving the total consequences of sin and he was judged on our behalf. So, anyone that accept his FINISHED WORKS, will never go through all he has went through again! He can't be under the power of sin again and the consequences of sin has no hold over his life again.
The old nature ought to pass through all these, but alas! As a believer, you are a new creature, nothing of the old(dominion of sin, judgement of sin, condemnation) nothing of it remains again. You are brand new..
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJVS
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, ALL THINGS are become new.
vs 3
Romans 6:3 KJVS
KNOW YE NOT, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
This further explains vs 2 that tells us rhetorically that as a believer we are already dead(separated eternally) to sin or from sin and we can never live(dwell, practice always) sin.
Paul started vs 3 with "know ye not"
He REMINDS them(church at rome) and us that anytime you feel the pressure of sin, of falling into temptations, or being overtook by a fault, instead of being sad and feeling condemned, accused which are the weapons of Satan, instead of allowing this to affect you, he said we should REMIND OURSELVES about who we are and what Christ has done for us(baptised into Christ and his death.)
We have many know ye not( instructions to always remind ourselves DAILY, in all the epistles..) for example.
1 Corinthians 3:16 KJVS
KNOW YE NOT that YE ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD, and that THE SPIRIT OF GOD DWELLETH IN YOU?
1 Corinthians 6:2 KJVS
Do ye not know THAT THE SAINTS SHALL JUDGE THE WORLD? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
1 Corinthians 6:3 KJVS
Know ye not THAT WE SHALL JUDGE ANGELS? how much more things that pertain to this life?
etc
Romans 6:3 KJVS
Know ye not, that so many of us as were BAPTIZED into Jesus Christ were BAPTIZED into his death?
The word *baptised* means immersed, submerged, PUT INTO, IDENTIFIED.
Know ye not that you were baptised into Christ and his death.
Now means ..
Don't you know that you were(past tense) PUT INTO Christ and IDENTIFIED with his death.
So, we were baptised(put into Christ),thats why if you are conversant with the epistles, you will always see this phrases *in Christ*
For example.
Galatians 3:26 KJVS
For YE are all the children of God by faith IN CHRIST Jesus.
Galatians 3:28 KJVS
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for YE are all one IN CHRIST Jesus.
Ephesians 1:3 KJVS
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places IN CHRIST:
Philippians 1:1 KJVS
Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all THE SAINTS IN CHRIST Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
etc.
Romans 6:3 KJVS
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
This means when we were(past tense) put into Christ, we were automatically IDENTIFIED with his DEATH, 2000 years ago!
We automatically appeared at that rugged cross,
We automatically died WITH and IN HIM.
so, whatsoever Happened to him, Happened to us ONCE AND FOR ALL and we can't pass through it again.
Part of what happened to him
1.He was separated from God.
2.He was judged for sin
3.He was bruised and paid the full consequences of sin and it's effects.
4.He went to hell.
Our old self was in him during all this process, so that our NEW SELF will never and ever go through it again inasmuch He(Jesus) will never go through them again.
So, when we came INTO CHRIST by believing and accepting his finished works at that same moment Our old self was identified with his sacrifice 2000 years ago..
It doesn't stop there.
We'll continue.
_See this as you go about today's business._
Christ lives in us..
So, God is not with you, on you, around you, beside you, beneath you. (all this will have a little distance even if it is 0.00001 yard.)
But instead he is in you, you are in him(no distance whatsoever)
So, where you are, is where he is..
Good morning.
All this are in parts, so that we might be able to carefully study it..
Has it been enlightening?
Let me know..
